Talks and Lectures at the LCP

The Professional Activities programme of the LCP provides opportunities for members, as well as professional colleagues and members of the public, to share ideas and discussion on a wide range of issues concerning current developments in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. A number of these events provide opportunities for CPD accreditation.

The annual programme of talks, lectures and conferences includes such series as ‘Audiences with Authors’, ‘Fourth Tuesdays’ and regular Saturday morning events where invited speakers address  a broad spectrum of topics on the theory and practice of psychotherapy. Themed series of talks have included such issues as 'Spirituality', 'Ageing' and ‘Celebrating Diversity’, ‘Siblings in Development’. The LCP Annual Lecture is held every September.

Speakers are invited mainly from the fields of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, from within and outside the LCP membership, from the UK and abroad.

We also invite people from the creative professions whose work is of particular interest to psychotherapists.  Speakers have included Margaret Drabble, Alan Bennett, Phillip Pullman and Tim Pigott-Smith.

Most events are open to the public. For current listings and how to book tickets see here.

All  events have been organised in aid of the London Centre for Psychotherapy - Registered Charity No. . All proceeds from these events will go to The London Centre for Psychotherapy, a member institution of the British Psychoanalytic Council.
